Changing the offset on a CRF250 '05

Recommended Posts

Would the '05 benefit if I mounted upper/lower clamps with 20mm offset? Or is it an unnecessary mod? I know they work well on the '04 model but since they moved the axle 2mm on the '05 I don't know if it still is a good mod.

Has anyone here tried a different offset on the '05?

If you are after function and the ability to change your steering in a few minutes to different settings, I would check out the CRF link that Fastway performance makes.

I have one on my my X and its pretty sweet how it completely tightened up the steering to honestly a thread the needle turner.

Neat thing about the Fastway, is you can change it back or to different settings with a different insert they provide.

I did a write up on my mine and here is the Fastway Link.

Now if your just into changing the looks through new tripple clamps...thats something else.

Who cares....just buy it....it looks good on the bike :)

I care if my bike handles good or great. Yes I believe 20mm is the proper offset for 05.

22mm offset for the 05's, 20's are for the 04's.

I have the 20s from RG3 on my 05. They work great in the tight woods. Took

a few rides to get used to, but that bike will dart in and out of the tress

in the tight stuff as good as any bike I have ever ridden.

OK I knew they made a 2mm offset change for 05, I just had it backwards.
