Suspension Question

Recommended Posts

I have an 04 WR250. Did the necessary free mods and the bike has run well. Now I guess Im ready to tweak the suspension. I'm 5'08" and about 170#. I'm a fairly good rider, so I've been told. I backed out the front suspension screws three clicks on both sides and top and bottom. I loosened the rear shock a bit. I did not do anything with the high or low compression setting for the shock.

Did I do this right or am I headed in the wrong direction. Any tips on adjusting suspension would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Keep the rubber side down.

this is what I was told to do by the guy who revalved mine

1. Adjust sag first. Soften till it feels worse (1/2 turn at a time) Then Tighten till to stiff to get a workin range. Keep track of how much you turn each time.

2. Starting with shock rebound adjust out( faster rebound) untill it feels to fast. Then go in Until to slow. Fork rebound is the same method.

3. Shock Compression: Turn clicker out (softer) until it feels to soft. Then turn in till its to stiff. Somewhere in the middle is usually the right settings

What are you trying to accomplish? Corner better, go faster thru whoops, jump w/o bottoming? :)

Define your problem and then we'll proceede.

What I would like to accomplish is to corner faster and faster thru the whoops. Thanks in advance. Most all of the riding I do is single and double trak trail riding.
