Will these tires fit ?

Recommended Posts

I found these localy but don"t know if they will fit. They are Michelan S12.

Fronts 80/100-21

Rear 130/80-18

They also have new Koldcutters installed which will add a little bit to the size. Going on an 2003 wr250f.

Thanks

Michelin sizes there tires different. the 130/80-18 equals a 110/100-18

Look here at the bottom of the page. I have the 130/80-18 on mine and love it and the 90/90x21 is what I have in the front

http://www.rockymountainmc.com/Product_Details.atv?pid=00022090

Michelin size 120/80x19 = 100/90x19 Conventional sizing

Michelin size 120/90x18 = 100/100x18 Conventional sizing

Michelin size 130/70x19 = 110/90x19 Conventional sizing

Michelin size 130/80x18 = 110/100x18 Conventional sizing

Michelin size 140/80x18 = 120/100x18 Conventional sizing

Michelin size 90/90x21 = 80/100x21 Conventional sizing

Great! That means that tire sizes should soon be as meaningless as they ever were. :) Why can't these guys follow the rules?

The number before the slash is supposed to be at least a close approximation of the tire's width across the tread surface. The second is the aspect ratio, which tells you the relationship of the tire's height (from the bead to the tread)to its width. A 110/100 should be about 110mm wide, and 100% as tall, or 110mm. A 130/80 will be nearly the same height (.8 x 130=104mm), but should be 20mm wider.

I agree that it is kinda stupid for them to size them different than everyone else. But its a great tire.

I agree with grayracer the tire is too big. The bigger tire will take too much power away. The 250f best quality is tractible power. The bike hooks up great the way it is. Don't mess with it!

I say get the bigger tire and try it. if you dont like it, next time get the smaller tire.

I ordered my S-12's as close to stock as I could. The size I went with was 90-90-21 for the front and 120-90-18 in the rear. These were for a 04 Wr. I could have gone with the 130 in the rear because that would have been like going up 1 size. I may try that at some point this summer if it is a wet as the last.
