Altitude

Recommended Posts

I will be taking my RMZ up to about 4500 feet in 2 weeks. The ride will go from about 600 feet to 4500. Am I going to run into any problems based on what we know know about the jetting on these things?

I am going to egt aone anyway, but would the fuel screw be able to compensate for this kind of elevation change? I dont want to get half way up the hills and have to rejet to kepp it running...

Am I being paranoid?

I live at 5500ft, and the 450 will run fine at that altitude as it comes stock.

Our curent daytime temps are anywhere between 85 and 100f Degrees.

We have gone a bit leaner on the pilot, needle and main, but just to clean it up a bit. The only problem is on the stock main which our bikes came with(170), the bike does not want to rev out properly, but that is only when you are really revving the bike. If I short shifted it it worked great. You will have absolutely no problems at all at that altitude with stock jetting.

the bike will run good enough at altitude although for premium running jetting is a must. if you are just going to ride there once or twice a year it is not worth messing with. im at 5500ft. and the stock jetting ran fine.
