Side Cover Gasket

I just replaced the shift shaft (gear spindle) on my 03 450, chain broke and bent the sucker. But I forgot to order the side-cover gasket! doh... Can I use some of that liquid gasket-maker stuff temporaily or should I just wait a week till I can get the gasket in? Just rained, hoping to ride tomorrow ?

If you removed the original gasket carefully I have reused them with a little Hi-Temp Silicone and they worked well.

I removed it as gently as I could, and it tore in quite a few pieces. It was stuck good around a lot of the bolt holes....

I used gasket maker before and it worked fine. Once you have it together though, your not going to want to take it back apart again. It all depends onm how much fun your going to have tomorrow. ?
