'00 DRZ stock chain — NO MASTERLINK??

Am I nuts? I can't find the freaking link...anyone? I have a cutter if necessary. :)

stock chain is endless.grind the head off the pins and pop the side plate off if you plan on keeping the chain.

Your are not going crazy, the stocker has no masterlink.

if you are fitting a new chain grind the heads of one of the links and use a center punch to knock the pins out.

The new chain, you can use a rivetable link or a clip type, your choice.

Any advantage to using the rivetable? I've always just used the clip type. :)

The rivet link is just peace of mind.

The clip type can wear or get damaged, i have had one come off when i had my KDX and i had no spare on the bike, so then after that i always carried a spare link and never needed it, it is still clipped to the clutch cable on the bike at the new owners, go figure :)

I could not find anyone near here with the tool to rivet my new DID chain so i went with the clip type on my Drz and so far so good, i keep a check on it though.
