What kind of riding do you consider fun?

Recommended Posts

I know allot of people race, and maybe that is the most fun to you, allot of people trail ride and feel the same way, but what kind of riding do you consider to be the most fun, relaxing, or enjoyable, and how often do you get to do that kind of riding?

My idea of fun is to take it kinda easy on some good trails, stopping to take a few good pics at some great views. Of course my skill level is probably lower than yours, as I am kind of a starting over rider after a long break. But what about you guys that are really good riders, whats fun to you?

Trail riding, casual or competitive. It really depends on who I am with. If I'm with the kids or newbies I normally ride sweep and just screw around. If I'm with the "big dogs" around here I normally push it to the outer limits of "under control". It's all good!

hmm. fun? at least semi-technical, twisty, long enough that i start to get physically tired.

racing enduros is one of my favorites. my other favorite is 80-120 mile idaho trailrides, maybe with a stop for lunch and 1-2 short restbreaks to chat and snack and stuff.

i also like riding mx tracks, doing maybe 10-15 laps at a time and stopping for a quick break. repeat until you run out of gas.

You know... my most enjoyable rides are probably our "Mid-week crisis" rides we do in the spring and fall... and some summer.

We go on Wednesday after work... 45 minutes up to the local mountains and ride 25 or so miles... build a fire and eat afterwards... sometimes... it is a frieken blast. Lots of stops on the trail to talk, laugh and joke around... consume our fair share of beer.

Oh, it is good to have riding buddies... and mine are the best!! ?

For me its Trials. Ive done lots of different types of riding, including trail and MX. I just like going out with a group of guys and challenging each other to do obstacles. Also the people that come up and say "you can go up that?!" The same for the competitions, everbody is really friendly and helpful, thats something I didn't see in racing.

Trail riding is also fun, I don't have an enduro anymore, but I ride the trials bike on hard, shorter singltrack. Which is just as fun. Its good to see guys drag their big bikes up rocks while I hop up them ?

Saw a guy ride the Pole Creek to Frog Lake loop in the Stanley Basin 5 years ago or so on a trials bike. ?

I like anytime I get to ride my bike but I would have to say trail riding. Only one time I went trail riding and didnt consider it fun....That was up the Shetipo trail above Entiat Washington. Its one of those trails that half way up and 40 switchbacks later you start thinking WTH am I doing here lol

Fun for me is all about going fast. I like trail rides, but I rarely feel safe going full-tilt on trails. It seems like every time I start to open it up in the sticks, there will be somebody parked in a blind corner or coming in the opposite direction.

Tracks are the most fun to me. Being around alot of good riders brings out my best, so the more crowded the better. I prefer running a 30-minute moto by myself, rather than dicing with other riders who are my speed. Its fun to chase and pass people, but I don't like to ride at other people's pace. That way I can soul ride; throwing whips, hitting alternate lines, wheelies, etc.

I like technical trails mixed in with faster trails. Really tight with obstacles then open up to big berms and jumps then back into some sh*tty places throughout the day that progressively get tougher and tougher to the end followed by a cool down ride of 2 track to the beers... Must be in scenic settings for beauty enhanced short pit stops along the way... At least 5 hours of riding and I like a medium sized group of friends that like to joke around.... ?

I like riding where I can actually put some miles on. I love the wind in my face, technical stuff is fun too as long as I'm not carrying my bike over trees and rocks I'm happy. The most fun is when I ride with my Dad and friends to Casino towns in Nevada. Idaho has the best riding that I've expierenced, true riding heaven...

Tight woods at a decent pace is fun.

I also like long dual sport rides that mix twisty pavement, tight woods,

old train tunnels, and fast high mountain fireroad stuff. I like spinning

around sandy natural MX tracks, nice way to get a good feel for your bike.
