Triple clamps hold the forks and connect them to the steering head. The handle bars are mounted to the top triple clamp.

They can be had with different offset, to change the rake and trail and therefor how the bike handles. Some are just "beefier", some mount to special handle bars or allow for steering dampers to be mounted.

You can mount fat bars,Plus you can have differnt options of where to place your bars, farther foward or ? where you need them...........

Plus they add to the bling effect :)

The most important feature! :)

You said brother.

I have customs that are cool but no one ever sees them. Good thing I got them free. :)

Some people choose differnt offsets because they want to tune the way their bike turns/handles. Even more people get them because they saw it in a magazine. BTW, I have 22mm Applieds on my CRF450 and love the way the bike feels (except in flat turns) but I bought it that way. I doubt I'd know the difference though since I'm not much of a chassis wizard.
