FMF Heat Shield, Neat Bike Stand...

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd post a couple of items I have found that may be of interest to others.

The first is a bolt on (well, strap on) heat shield from FMF for four-stroke headers. My Big Gun header did not have one. When riding with MX boots its no problem but when riding with jeans or sweat pants when working on bike I managed to burn two very nice oval holes in two pairs. I found this strap on heat shield that was easy to install and cures the issue:

The other neat thing is a hydraulic bike stand. I had to get a new floor jack (for our car/truck) as mine had died, and when I was at Sam's looking I also found this neat bike stand that was only $79.00. It drops lower than my foot operated one (so you don't have to lift the bike up on it), and it had built in tie-down hooks so you can strap the bike to it (so it won't fall off). With the castors you can roll the bike around while its on it. I had seen these at Sam's before and they were well over $100.00. Not sure why the price drop? Capacity is 1500 lbs. In the picture I have it raised a bit; collapsed it lies flat.

Its by "Crew-Line". I like it as well. It goes higher than my foot operated stand and with the wheels is nice too. Especially when you are tired :)
