Scratch Removal?

I know that scratches add character, well obviously, but my problem is that I can't really stand em! Can they be wet sanded out? Are there any products out there that actually work? I don't mind a little elbow grease, it sure beats dropping 150 bucks on plastics. My decals are fine, I just need to remove some ~1mm deep scratches from a fall in a rocky area.

Wet sand them down then use some mop-n-glo on them.

Plastic Renew. $16 for the box, comes with coarse and fine sandpaper and the coating to apply to the plastic to make it shine ?

I have a friend who is realy good with a propane torch. Scratches fill in with the melted plastic and shiney new look is left behind. It takes allot of practice, I wouldn't try it.
