What's in the DRZ400S tool kit?

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a used '03 DRZ400s. It came with a small assortment of tools, but there's obviously some missing.

Can somebody post a picture or a list of the tools that come in the standard tool kit?

Thanks!

BTW - crimped conduit is probably an "extension handle" for the axle wrenches.

IMHO, it doesn't really matter what all those tools are for b/c they all SUCK. ESPECIALLY the aforementioned pliers! Figure out what you need, then buy good ones.

Yea, what is that 6" conduit thingy?

It's a cheater bar. Slips over the end of the wrench for the rear axle nut to give you extra leverage. A very clever addition to the kit in my opinion.

I agree. Pretty much every motorcycle tool kit is for emergencies only. I usually replace the wrenches with better ones, add a set of vice grips, and adjustable wrench. My "multi-purpose" tool pretty much takes care of the other bits I might need. I also have a Motion Pro MP tool kit that supplements the OE tools well. I just wanted to know what the minamum tools were. Now I can add and/or replace what is needed or what's missing...

My bud works for Sears...kinda off topic here but didja know that they merged with Kmart? Maybe we can get some Blue Light Special Craftsman stuff in the future? :)

The only thing in the kit worth anything is the cool jointed spark plug wrench. The E does not come with a kit but I bought one off a guy who was parting out his bike just for the spark plug wrench. It also works on the front axles among other places.

A cell phone is a very important tool to take with you on a ride....:excuseme:

I was thinking more in the lines of what to bring as a tool kit - ( tools to fix flat fire/replace tube/change out tire. Tools for oil chain, tools for broken chain!

Forget that piece of crap, get a Cruz fender mount kit from Cruztools and swap the tire levers for a 22&24 mm combo wrench levers from DRC - wheelingcyclesupply.com

Best kit and best price on the market. I even picked up a spair at DealerExpo last yr.....
