rear fender

I just picked up my 05 DRZ400s and i love the bike except for the Ugly rear fender! Has anyone just cut it off(up to the license plate) with a dremel? I tried a search on this forum but came up empty. Thanks!

I modified the entire tail-light assembly. Cut-off the bottom. Got rid of the entire spacer between fender and tail-light. Takes a little time but is worth the effort. Padded space between light and what was left of bracket with high-density foam for some cushion and weather-proofing as well as a silicone bead. Looks much better to my eye. And, got rid of a little weight. It positions the light higher which to my mind is not a bad thing. That Suzuki original tail-light assembly should get an industry award for being the ugliest SOB ever made. Good luck... ?

Got me a '05, the tail light assembly was the first thing to go! I used the baja designs LED tail light, with some arrow turn signals......it looks awesome, not sure if it is DOT approved, but catch me if you can! The tail light and the signals are very bright in my opinion.

One I figure how to post pictures, and actually take some, I will post......

You can either do a search, or click on the TT "store" button at the top of the page to see pics of the LED taillight/fender from Baja Designs. Ordered mine from the TT store earlier this week. That stock unit really is butt ugly.
