Factory inner tubes?

Recommended Posts

Ok, I have my new S-12's waiting to go on the WR. Now, are the factory inner tubes worth putting back in or should I just get the heavy duty tubes first? Also are the extra heavy duty tubes any better or just a pain to get in the tire while mounting them? :)

Get the MSR ultra heavy duty tubes from Rocky Mountain for $12.99 each. They are worth every penny. They are thick but are still easy to install. Its the foam inserts that are the pain in the a$$.

I will probably go with whatever HD tubes my local dealer has in stock this time. But can I stick with the stock ones for now or until they go flat, I hate to waist them.

You won't be wasting them if you take them out and stick them in your gear bag for spares for either you or your buddies when someone gets a flat.

Before installing the new tubes, lace the inside of the rims with 3 rounds of 1 inch duct tape. This helps prevent water entering the wheel and helps prevent pinched tubes. Save the old rubber band, and use it over the rim lock.
