Steering problems

Recommended Posts

i bought an 04 200exc yesterday and noticed that radiator guards might cause it to not steer very sharp at all. when i adjusted it to steer sharper than it will now the fork hit the radiator cap and the cdi box. i'm planning on getting flatland radiator guards, but i dont know if they would work out very good.

how much clearance do i need to allow between the fork and whatever it would hit first before i adjust it to stop?

I have mine adjusted so there is about an 1/8 of an inch between the forks and the radiator and there are marks from them touching but no problems.

I have a 525SX, I put spacers between the frame and radiator mounts (washers and new bolts from the hardware store)to move the radiators father out. Then I marked, cut, and lengthened the wires on the CDI and zip tied the CDI to the front of the frame behind the front number plate. Then turned my steering limiters ALL THE WAY IN. Good luck hope this info helps :)
