yz carb for may application?

Recommended Posts

I have a BBR 150 kit on the way. I am thinking of also using a yz80 carb and i have a few questions.

1. what year carb? Will a 1997 work?

2. will a stock carb work with a 110main and 17.5 pilot? Elevation 0-1500

My bikes motor specs:

1.Will have BBR 150 kit w/cam

2.Air box mod.

3.BBR big air filter

4.FMF pipe

5.stock carb has been jetted (110/17.5)

So basically i want to know if the stock carb will work ok and what jetting would work for me with what i have. Or should i go with a yz80 carb and what jetting should i use. Thanks for any info.

the carb will work. It will be a piece of work to jet it but there is info in the sticky at the top of the page that will help. the fmf pipe isn't a real top end pipe so the value of the vm 26 yz carb will be minimized. My take is it will be barely worth it unless you want top end and you change the fmf pipe.

i plan on getting a BBR pipe. the carb is a 1997 yz80 mikuni 4es10. Is that the right one. what is the difference if i were to buy a carb from bbr or one of the other companys and the 97 yz80 one?
