Cutting the airbox?

Anyone have any pictures of where they are cutting their airboxes? I know of the mod but where are you guys cutting them at? Is it worth the hastle?

I thought the R's airbox was open on top? The X's airbox has only a little snorkle that the air must go through, so it is quite inhibiting.

The 05 250R has the cuts in the number plate and is open on top if you don't count the seat being there. Pretty much gets a lot of air to it.

I drilled some large holes in the Number plate where it matches with the airbox.

I use my bike for Supermoto, so there is not as much concern with dirty conditions as it's on pavement 80% of the time.

I have a second set of stock number plates that are for the occasional dirt trip.

Are you cutting it for more air or so you can look like some FMX goon?

I actually modified my airbox because dyno testing showed a .5 HP increase. ?

I can not stress that I would not do this for standard MX duty.
