installing new grips

Just curious what everyone is using when installing new grips. Glue, hairspray, wire, epoxy???

Grip glue cuz its easy as cake and you can buy it for like a buck when you pick up your new grips. ? Then safty wire with the pointy ends turned around and shuved into the grip.

Hrmmm I didn't have that big of a problem with removing the stock grips. Just use a flatblade screwdriver to work around and break the bond of the glue.

Use the grip glue, it acts a lubricant to get them on and let it dry over night and your good to go. Getting them off was tough, but not too bad. Took me about ten minutes to get them right.

I use Scotts grips and also like their adhesive. One little tube will mount 3 sets of grips and I use safety wire, too. Good luck... ?

gorrilla snot and safety wire.

you can glue anything together with gorrilla snot.

You didn't have to shave your throttle grip off ? Mine was a one piece unit and I had to cut the crap out of it and then use sandpaper to smooth it out enough to get the new grip on (Pro Grips)......used my wifes hairspray ?

The stock grip is molded to the throttle tube. You either need to carve the old one off and smooth out the tube (it has ribs and ridges to hold the molding)...or you need to buy an aftermarket tube.

I carved mine. I found that the dremel with a sanding drum cleaned off the old grib and ground down the ridges best.

I used the scotts grip glue...twice on the left but it kept breaking loose. On the third attempt used "Permatax Copper Spray a Gasket" adhesive. It took a couple days to fully tack up...but I don't think it will be coming loose again. Time will tell.

i use grip glue and saftey wire,just dont bend your bars right after you install new grips cause you cant re-use the grips on new bars.
