Not totally sure but I think that the bolt that goes through the swing arm also attaches to the rear motor mount.

The main pivot bolt on the swingarm goes through the cases behind the tranny. I am sure if you take that bolt out you can get the engine in and out without removing the swingarm. What I don't know is whether or not you can remove that bolt without removing the swingarm. I have never tried that.

If you are lucky enough to be able to get the swingarm pivot bold out easily, dont take it completlely out of the frame, leave enough sticking into the frame to hold the swingarm in place, while still letting the engine come free. If you can, it is a good idea to take the bolt completely out to clean it and inspect it for wear. Putting a piece of roundstock or something similar to the pivot bolt back into the hole after the engine is removed, the bike can still be moved easily.
