Any particular signs of wear I should have a look at other than the size of the piston?
I'd deffinetly look for scuffing on the piston and inside the cylinder, if you have gone to the trouble of removing the piston for inspection you might as well replace it, I don't know how much they cost for the wr's but my kx pistons were only around the 100 dollar mark. just the peace of mind knowing that you have a new piston in your bike and not worring about a chunk of the skirt breaking off is well worth it.
