Output shaft collar

Hi everyone,Picked up a new output shaft oil seal today, went to fit it and noticed that the collar seems quite worn, can any one tell me how this collar comes off is it a matter of pulling it with a pair of mole grips or similar .

It just slips off but there is an o-ring at the back between the collar and the bearing.
