Propercare and feeding of your Valves

A primary cause of valve failure in our bikes is the valve seats, they are very hard and beat up the titanium valves. That could be why the stainless steel valve have worked. If you prefer to continue with Ti valves try running some leaded race fuel, you can mix it 50/50 with pump gas and still get good results. The lead in the fuel will act as a cushin protecting the valve from mushrooming, which in turn causes the tightening of the valve clearance.

I always run a ' valve guard in the fuel'. I have also had my valve seats changed to softer copper berylium inserts to help cushion the valves. Exceldyne valves have been fitted to the inlet with a washer added to preload the standard valve springs. All working well.
