Dreaming about the xr 650 L since 2000 and finally May 2, 2013 it came true. I think at 6'4 I make this bike look a little small. Ha Ha, Built just for me.

The 650 went from truck to driveway, to parents house, to field and then to miles of weyerhauser land....what a great time. Can't wait till tomorrow, new day, new places to explore.

Gosh we had had such a good start to this years (2013) NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally. This bike was 2nd Overall (out of 42) after 3 stages and 3rd OA at the midway point. However, we had to withdrawal from the rally after a crew member became dangerously ill and needed to be hospitalized in southern BAJA. We don't leave our crew behind (especially when she is my wife)

Nevertheless, this beauty performed as well as could be expected and we are so happy with her. Thanks to Renazco Racing, FlexxBarrs and Peter Hardy for the bike.

Thank you very much. I've been procrastinating a build thread for awhile now, been meaning to get to it but the project was very extensive and would require a significant amount of time to write. A Q&A would probably be more reasonable as nearly everything required atleast some degree of modification or fabrication. Originally it was a 2001 650l desert trim with 8,xxx miles I picked up for just under 2 grand. Everything cosmetic was (painstakingly) discovered on this thread. There is another like mine buried deep in this thread somewhere but it's a dead account. If you have any questions just pm me until I get around to a build thread.

All things are possible. Not all things are feasible. Just too much money and complexity to do that. We wanted to.

Hi all. I'm a thumper newbie. This 93 xr600 is my first bike. I bought it about a month ago and have been steadily trying to make it my own. The first pic is from the day I got it. And the other is today. I love this bike. I'm still learning all about it but it handles great and will be my commuter soon. So far all it as is a super trap pipe. New plastic but everything else is pretty much stock. I plan on dual sporting with it so any advise would e awesome.
