The new Betas are here!

Recommended Posts

The Beta bikes are a great blend of alot of the most popular offroad feature tied in with a very trick dual sport package. My point about the linkage was that it was a "KTM with Linkage" ie ktm motors are great but KTMs lack of linkage turns off alot of people.

Here are some more features;

Avail in 250/400/450/525 (6 speed)

Marzochi Shiver forks

Sacks rear shock with linkage

FMF Q2 silencer

Billet hubs

Braking wave rotors

Dual sport ready

Removable, tiny turn signals

Removable mirrors

Michelin DOT Enduro Comp 3 rear tire, Enduro Comp MS front

4 sprockets/ 2 chains (15/45 and 14/50)

Hydraulic clutch

Nisan Brakes

Aluminum Skid Plate

Plastic frame guards (not carbon as in many pics)

Steel braided brake lines

Magura fat bar

2 postion triple clamp (similar to KTM)

Multi function computer w/remote

266lbs all fluids, tank about 3/4 full

I got to check one out at my local husaberg shop. Very nice bike. It has top of the

line everything and the detailing is flawless. And all this for $9300!!! OUCH!

If they didn't have a ktm motor they might have something. Why not spend the money

on a ktm doing suspension and just about any goody you can think of.

or in fact just buy a Husaberg, and it'll weigh a lot less as well as have all the top quality bits!

Interesting that you saw one in Oregon. Which dealer?

Remember the Husaberg is linkless, and besides everything is on the wrong side ?. Seriuosly though, the Beta truely is an incredible machine when you consider you have an awesome offroad machine that is a REAL dual sport from the factory...

Not sure about the California dealer, I'm in WA.

We are selling the 450 for $8950.

BOSS husaberg in portland has a 250 and 450 on display. I thought he sayed

he was displaying them for beaverton but I can't be for certain on that.

The sherco's and gasgases are expensive but they have there own moter with

fuel injection. I just think most people are going to say Beta! who the hell is

that. Then they'll hear ktm moter, thats cool. Then they'll get the price and say

WHAT!!.

Here in oregon you can dual sport anything. Now in california this bike might

sell, already dual sported and all.

Like I posted this bike is flawless with awsome stuff. Did I mention the auto

choke? I just don't think people are ready to spend $9000 on a dirt bike.

But then I thought $7000 was crazy and look all the estarts are in that

price range. I'm not in marketing so I really don't know crap.

I'm not trying to ruin any sales for you guys. I hope they do sell, The more manufactures out there the better the bikes I buy will be.

As far as suspension goes I'm guessing this bike will need a revalve or resprung as it's in dualsport trim. At least for heavy offroading.

You could have a ktm/husaberg revalved by one of the best tuners

out there and still be money ahead. It really doesn't take much to get

them boingers to work great, any more.

All bikes have draw backs this one appears to have only one. $ ?

Bob Lanphere's Beaverton Honda sells them as well....

I am not sure these bikes will pass california emissions....

The old addage comes true sometimes "You get what you pay for." I own the '05 GG 450, nice bike and same price as my '05 KTM 400exc. In addition, whan VOR imports their '05/'06 I'm ready! The euro is beating the dollar up pretty bad! ?

The bikes raced in the WEC appear to have the 50mm twin chamber forks (or maybe the 45mm's) and are hard anodized black, what do the bikes that are imported come with? Is a fork upgrade an option?

Anyone that has not gone to the website and downloaded a brochure should do so. This bike looks to be very well designed. It has a semi perimeter frame much like a Suzuki or Husaberb and a linkage rear suspension with a KTM RFS motor. Someone spent alot of time looking at what works on other bikes and built this bike with the best of everything (design and parts). The accessory CF guards look pretty cool to. The mid section looks to have a more rounded profile in the seating area, rather than the modern ultra thin like KTM.
