diff CDI this year, hopefully changed for the better
I didn't see where it was a new CDI......
pipe is repackable, thats a first
"Revised CDI ignition keeps that amazingly broad and deep powerband hard-hitting, yet controllable."
Honda better step up to the plate !!!
Dahm as much as I want one now, ill wait for the '07 so they can get the bugs worked out
Good job Yamaha, way to come out swingin !!
Looks like they got rid of the "hand holds" I use to lift the bike onto the stand, behind the airbox....hope the fender is stronger....
Don't get me all exited for no reason man. It says 4 speed on their website...
Hold the phone grandma, on the "features and benefits" page it says "New, close-ratio five-speed transmission provides more performance in a wider range of riding environments."
Looks great, but $200 extra for yellow plastic?
+$500 over 2005? Plus another $200 for yellow? Yup, right in line with the H bikes now.
5 speed? Don't get me all exited for no reason man. It says 4 speed on their website...
I don't think their Spec's pages have been updated....the TTR-50 has spec's remarkably similar to the PW50's (like shaft drive....the picture clearly shows a chain)
"New, five-speed gearbox squeezes even more performance from the mighty five-titanium-valved 450. " the specs are wrong, the weight is the same as last years in the specs section.....wrong
Takin' it old school!!!!!!!!!!!
If I would have known that they were going to offer the oldschool yellow for 06, I would have waited to buy one. It also would have been a no-brainer between the YZ and the WR.
That is awesome!!!
I'll gladly pay the extra for the Yama-Yeller!!!!!!
The 250 2 smoke is available from July, and get this, has the same Renthals as 05...it doesn't share the Pro Tapers of the 450....
people, you have to take into perspective that the bike has alot of other shit added such as pro tapers, titanium spring, gripper seat not to mention an ALUMINUM FRAME!!!!
Hope you're right Butta. Seems the most likely explanation.
A 5 speed and Al frame will likely win back a lot of buyers, like me, that owned the 426 and then bought a CRF. I could give two hoots about the Al frame, but I don't want a 4 speed.
2 comments about the "New Blue"......and Yellow;
1) It just became a buyers market for used YZF's....and left over 05's.
2) Bummer for Big Green, I think Yamaha just stole their thunder.
All that and Pro Tapers too, I'll be up all night now.......
Changing the cylinder head angle and moving the dry sump oil tank inside the front of the crankcase improves overall balance and handling and eliminates external oil lines.

I think Yamaha does its research on TT....people wanted a 5 speed, Al-framed, YELLOW YZ.....and now, er, in November, SOME of those people can get one.....
Should come with 756's
