Just do it with the book for guidance!!!

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

I bought a set of Crf 450r forks for my Xr 650r. After I put them on is when I noticed that they were leaking. With a little bit of guidance from the shop manual I was able to replace the seals and shims and the oil. It took me about 3 hours total because I had not done it before. The second fork took about 30 minutes. If you are thinking about doing your seals and oil just go for it. It is not that hard. Finding the right tools is the biggest problems. Thanks for the help with the manual. Have a happy ride. Tony

How did they work for you? I assume they are about 100 times better but you might have to stiffen them up to compensate for the added weight. My buddy and I put XR600 suspension on his XL350 one time and it could never be bottomed out and rode like a cadillac. He bored the t-clamps out a little and we had to manhandle the heck of the shock to get it on but it worked like it was factory. Hope you like it....
