BadFish   Posted July 8, 2005 I recently let a friend of mine install an 82cc kit in my xr while I was gone to the beach. When I got home I started to break it in and the head gasket blew 🙂 . So I tore down the motor to find that there were only two dowel pins in the cylinder 🙂 . To make matters worse there was also an o-ring left over and I don't have the owner's manual for my bike. Anyway I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what order the four dowel pins should be installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
dirtbkr188 Â Â Posted July 8, 2005 Looking at the engine from the front of the bike, and looking back, the 2 8x12 dowels go on the two right-side engine studs, between the lower end and the cylinder. One of the 8x14 dowels goes on the upper-left engine stud, and the other goes on the lower-right engine stud, between the cylinder and the cylinder head itself.
