Hot-start

Recommended Posts

Can you take off the the hot start (I know you can) without getting any crap into the carb when riding or starting up the bike. Mine has broken, I want to ride and want to make sure that it is not going to suck any dirt/crud into my new rebuilt engine.

TIA

Ian

You mean remove it at the carb? If you do you better plug it with something that you can remove later. It will suck dirt and air like mad....

Thanks for the answer. I guess I will wait until my new part arrives on Tuesday. I figured that would happen.

Kinda backyard....REAL southern engineering if you know what I mean....but you could take some paper, wad it up to plug the hole, then seal it with a dab of silicone RTV....that way you can remove it later. Sometimes you have to figure out a way to ride, if you want to ride that bad.... 🙂

I had to do that once when I lost my fuel screw. Rode all day like that. 🙂
