Few questions before I change my fork springs

Recommended Posts

I read the current thread "changing fork oil" and it seems like it may have answered my question but I still need to clarify. I have new fork springs and shock spring to put on my 250f since I way a whooping 120 pounds. The shop recommended 5w oil for my weight as well. Basically all I have to do is loosen the top caps, remove the fork legs, drain the oil and take out the springs? I don't have to completely dissemble the forks correctomundo?

Correct. Dont completely disassemble. Just get as much of the old oil out as you can by pumping that damper rod around 20-30 times. The rear spring you will need to set all your sags again. I would try leaving all the click adjustments stock until you ride on your new springs. More in likely you will be in those forks again shortly resetting your fork oil. Be patient with this suspension stuff and you will eventually get it to where you like.🙂
