Gearing 2004 Honda CRF250R for trails and woods

Hi there, I want to do some trail and woods riding with my father and would like to know what gearing some people have on the rear sprocket of they're 2004 Honda CRF 250R's. How many tooth sprocket should I go up by on the rear? Thanks

my stock 05 gearing works really well, i like it. If you deal w/ really really tight stuff all the time go up 3 on the rear or down 1 on the front.

i have a 53 tooth rear that works good on most trails, i have to clutch on the really tight stuff but it did make trail riding alot easier

ok I think I'll go 3 up on the rear sprocket then...

That's a drastic change. The chain guide may present a problem.
