Chevitz Posted July 11, 2005 I have an 03 450R that won't Idle and is extremely hard to start. If I pull in the hot start and kick it a whole bunch it will start, or if we pull start it it will start. It also won't idle at all. If I just barely crack the throttle it will Idle like it should. The idle screw is turned all the way up and I have cleaned the carb twice and replaced the plug. this is very annoying, has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have any ideas? Your help is very much appreciated!
freeride7 Posted July 11, 2005 yup. Just happenned to me. Took my head off and my intake valves were shot. Hammered into the seats, no clearence. I would check your valve clearences. My bike did the identical thing...wouldn't idle, ran lousy, hard starting. T

125shifter Posted July 11, 2005 Get you some stainless ones from RHC and send him yer head. Do it right and you won't spend but a few hundred clams total. Get a complete '04 cam chain tensioner assembly while you're at it.
