2003 450EXC too hot??

Recommended Posts

I just got a 2003 450 EXC a few weeks ago. Yesterday I was out dual sporting a bit around my house because I just got it plated. I then stopped by my dad's house and rode on his track a bit. After that I filled up my gas for the ride home, and there were bubbles coming up from the bottom of the tank. I think the gas might have been boiling?? I've checked the coolant level, and it was fine. Also the oil level is fine. I'm going to be changing the coolant and oil tonight (Engine Ice coolant and Mobil 1 fully synthetic) to see if that makes a difference. It was 90 out yesterday, but I wasn't going slow riding on the track. Is this something that happens on the KTM's? It's my first one, so I'm not sure. Thanks for the input!

Yeah, kind of normal on a 4 stroke. The engines run hotter and are close to the tank. Just make sure that you don't have a one way valve in the gas cap vent line or the tank will build pressure and cause the bike to run poorly.

Congrats on the bike.
