The red rad hoses, like the ones the factory connection team uses aren't red. they are the black oem hoses with red heat tape on them. The heat tape prevents the head pipe from buring a hole in them.

heat tape why didn't i think of that. And that plastic dip stuff looks like it would work good, but what about on the inside when you dip it in it? WOuld it melt off and go into the motor or have particles blocking fluid???

Well if you do it and dont like it the stuff comes right off, just peal it off. It comes off clean. So just try it, it will work .
