Pac Nw Fires

Recommended Posts

Whats the fire situation like in Washington? Here in the Okanagan valley it's really dry and we're starting to burn. Just noth of the border there is a 1000 acre fire that got started from some guy with a lawnmower. He hit a rock and away it went. Let's all hope for some rain.

We have a few large fires burning in Washington, the largest is down by Pomeroy and is right at 41,000ac.(I have a couple of crews there). Central Idaho and Wesern Montana got hit pretty hard the last couple of days with three firefighters surviving shelter deployment during a burn over. :D

And for added fun we are expecting a cold front moving through today with 20mph winds. RED FLAG WARNING

I own 20+ acres in the upper Tunk Valley, right next to the Okanogan Nat'l Forest. That one fire from the 4th of July was about 3 miles from my property. Its all wooded (Ponderosa Pines) and would hate to lose it. I wont live long enough to see it reforested like it is now.
