New sprocket

Recommended Posts

I just put a larger rear sprocket on and my chain is almost long enough. Is there any way to add one link or should I just pony up the 75 bucks and get a new chain. (My existing chain is only about 3 rides old) Thanks for any suggestions.

I would just get a smaller front sprocket, and not change the rear. You can go down one tooth in the front and that is equivalent to going up two or three teeth on the rear. Your chain will fit with no links added and a front sprocket will cost less than $10.00.

Food for thought. :D

Storytime. I have known guys who incorrectly installed ONE master link and had a chain snap while going over a jump and busted a case. $$$$$$$$$
