New Fork Springs

I just received my new Pro Tech .46 springs and the install process is underway. The springs seem to have some type of anti-corrosion stuff on them. Should I use a carb cleaner or contact cleaner prior to installing or just put them in as is? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm definately going to clean it off, but I've been told by a cohort to use contact cleaner and not carb or brake cleaner. I don't want to contaminate my fork fluid. Any thoughts?

Do I at least get a prize for a stupid question?

I would clean it off. I would guess to say that it is some sort of corrosion preventive compound and is probally not good for the fork oil.
