slippy bars

i got a sikk 125 and the bars are tight but they slip! i was going to tac weld them in place but they are aluminum so i was thinking that i would drill two holes in the top of the clamp and through the bars and tap a bolt in there to hold it tight. what do you guys think.

wrap some electrical tape around the bars where it clamps

Don't drill those holes, it will weaken the bars more than you obviously think.

Best to figure out why they move when apparently done up......

Maybe the bar is slightly too smnall for the clamp ? File the top clamp down to make a bigger gap front and back.

Maybe the calmping surfaces are too smooth ? Rough em up with a file etc.

i called the guy at sikk he told me to shim slivers of soda can in the clamp. it worked great i cant move the darned thing for my life. thanks for the hints though
