2006 Yamaha YZF600R or Kawasaki ZZR600

I'm getting ready to buy a new bike and I'm torn between the YZF600R and ZZR600. I like the different colors of the yzf but I'm just wondering what major differences can be found between the two bikes and what would you'd recommend? Right now I'm leaning towards the ZZR.

Between those two, the YZF has been around a bit longer...will be easier to get parts for, for the money, several other choices like the ZRX mentioned above (outstanding bike)

Is it a first bike, if so I woulnd't reccomend the ZRX, its really heavy, not what I would want to learn on

Screw both and buy an '06 YZ250F. Excellent bike to learn on.

I started out on a YZF600R, its a great starter bike. Not to heavy and fast. But if I were you I would go one step up to the R6. There is a noticable difference and if want to do wheelies and stuff the 600R lacks major torque compared to the R6. Don't get me wrong my old 600r could still stand up, just took a little more effort than the R6.

Which dealership would provide better service or has a better reputation? I've owned Kawasaki's most of my 25+ years of riding, but bought a Honda this time due to poor service.

YZF will just out handle the ZZR in standard form, then drop the forks through about 5-10mm to quicken the turn in and you've got a fast, comfy, cheap bike that'll do 180 miles to a tank.
