Stabilizing wire connections

Recommended Posts

The most common reason for most electrical failure is a faulty, loose or corroded connector. I installed the Trick Dualsport kit and used a plastic epoxy from Home Depot to mold around the molux connectors to stop the pins from working out and the wire from fraying at the back of the connector. It comes in a tube, and it is a dry epoxy you cut from a round tacky roll. After its kneaded and applied, it can be be removed with pliers, as it dries to the consistency of an old caulk. It can even give a more water resistive connection if you tape the molux connector itself. The most important thing is that the wires are protected from abrasion and being torn from the pin connectors crimped on the wire.

Give it a try. It will eliminate a common headache.
