no sixth gear ,how about regear trans

Recommended Posts

good evening,

I was looking over gear ratio's for z400 quad compared to drz and found that

fifth gear is taller than drz fifth and first is geared lower. does anyone know if motors are basically identical to where you can use quad gearing. maybe i will try and do some research, on subject any help would be appreciated.

burned would be the man to ask, but I believe he's already answered no before. This thread: click it is about the countershaft sprocket attachment, but he does make mention that the transmissions are completely different. Sorry to rain on your parade. I honestly wish there was a taller 5th gearset available.

the transmission is completely different on the ltz.

the only identical parts from a drz and ltz are the top ends.

Pity the cases and tranny are different. This would be a great mod. Burned would probably make a bundle off us doing the swaps if it could be done.

How unlike Suzuki, master of parts bin engineering, to not simply drop a DRZ engine into the LTZ. A quick perusal of my '97 Suzuki TL1000S and my 2002 DRZ400S reveals that the chain guards and valve shims are the same parts :banghead:
