K-fab Posted September 27, 2005 SCAM!!! Don't reply, respond or react in any way except to delete the reply you got. They're fishing for info and can get it in some pretty wild ways. Delete the e-mail.
696 Posted September 27, 2005 Be VERY, VERY careful on this!!! I am trooper and have seen SEVERAL case of this on the net. Usually they send a check that either bad or over the amount you were asking, or they want you to send some $$$ through some type of scam leaving you without a bike and a bad check!!! Get as much info as you can. Make sure it is a legit company, call and contact them and check up on it. If anything seems funny DONT DO IT!!! Not to be knocking you but what are the odds of someone over seas and your bike??? I have seen more and more of this with bikes and quads lately. You call one # and there in Mexico and the client is in France but they and the bike shipped to Canada or crap like that. I hope it does work out but in my line of work something that looks to good to be true, usually is.
RiderX My Ride Posted September 27, 2005 Anytime there is a "client" involved in the purchase of a car or bike over the internet it's a scam, the end. I have a car for sale in Autotrader right now and you wouldn't believe the number of emails I've gotten that are almost the same as yours word for word. I had fun with a couple of them by telling them to send me a check made out to "Dick Inurass" just to see if they'd do it. No luck yet.
Sower Posted September 27, 2005 I have sold several bikes on Ebay. Each time listed I would get 4 or 5 of these letters. Always from another country with a zero rating. No response is the right one.
FPMX_74 Posted September 27, 2005 SCAM BRO!!! I listed my 01' YZ262F for $2,900. Some scammer wanted to send me a cashiers check for $4000. and then they want you to send them the remainder of the $$. What they want you to do is. Send them the remainder out of your bank balance then when you go to cash the check, its fake or no funds. I work LAPD and see this crap all the time. DON'T DO IT!!! anytime something sounds too good to be true,,, it is!!!!!

grayracer513 My Ride Posted September 27, 2005 Don't be careful of doing it, don't respond to him at all. Like the cop says, he'll send you a bogus check and ask for your bike and the balance from you in cash. Your bike will end up in Nigeria, and you'll be up S*it Creek. Think about why a wholesaler would pay your retail asking price to turn it over to a client. Do you think they don't make a profit on a sale like that, or do you think that the client is going to pay 15-25% over market price?
thump353 Posted September 28, 2005 if they send you a check, go to wal-mart and buy a little yz250f toy, then go to a motorcycle shop and get a crate. very carefully dismantle the toy and secure it in the motorcycle crate. include in the crate your hand written title (preferably written by a 4 yr old in crayon) and end it with these letters written very large and bold.........F U.
