Aftermarket header with stock muffler (SM model)

Hi all!

I want to increase my engine's performance and I've thought

on replacing the exhaust pipe, but in my country it isn't

allowed, so that I've decided to replace my stock headpipe

with an afermarket one (like CRD), because it isn't very

different-looking, and the police won't notice the change.

The question is, has anybody tried it? is there any difference

in concerning to performance?

Added to this, I'm going to modify the stock muffler (peashooter

and drill walls).

Have not heard of anyone doing it. I would think that there is much more of an advantage of switching the headpipe than the other way and buying a slip-on since the headpipe is the major restriction.

I'd try the "Complete" "E" or "Dirt-Model" exhaust system!

It looks EXACTLY like the stock system...AND...it FLOWS a-lot better than the "S"/"SM" system (Bigger header, "Free" flowing muffler)...

Also, you can run an "E" header on your "S" pipe.

Or...you can register your Bike in Portugal and run WHATEVER YOU WANT!

You can run an FMF Power Bomb header with the stock exhaust, the header comes with a new sleeve to fit the standard can.

There is a fairly good increase in power, but it will need re-jetting.

You could also paint it black so it looks stock.

FMF PowerBomb header is supposed to be better than the CRD one, but in Spain it's very expensive (280€ FMF vs 150€ CRD). Anyway, I'll try to buy it from other country by e-commerce.

You could also think of a road legal alternative, my remus slipon is perfectly road legal as it has the essential 'E' mark etched on the can, it has a removable baffle so when you remove it hey presto race can!!! combine this with a front pipe of your choice and i can't see how the police could worry.

could you maybe post a pic of ur slipon? would like to see it on the bike if thats kewl?

Tell me more... that sounds exactly like what I need. How much is this header?

Cost in the UK is £150. It is well worth the money, for the improvement.

It is considerably less from the TT store.
