Rjuan Posted September 28, 2005 Will a 15-tooth countershaft fit on a 2002 CRF450 without any modification besides removing that worthless case guard? I remember reading that a nub needs to be removed from the swing arm, but that might have been on a CRF250.
chris brown Posted September 28, 2005 my buddy has a 15 on his 02, just had to file down the nub slightly.
Super Mato Posted September 28, 2005 You will also need to modify the swingarm pivot rubber slider so the teeth on the sproket will clear it. A bench grinder will remove the material after you have marked it with a felt tip pen.
biznatcho Posted September 30, 2005 I did this conversion on mine, I had my buddy grind down the swingarm nub, and I had to flip the countershaft and put washers between the rear sprocket & hub. I think I have a 46 rear, and the 15 front is great for buttonwillow, but i think it's too high for horsetheif.....unless i was being passed because my bike is running stock & crappy (which it is). I'm going 14 front at the next motard/kart track.
