azmotobrat My Rides (3) Posted October 3, 2005 Seat time and miles do the magic. No substitute for riding. But if you have an access to dirt bike "school", it may be very helpful. You are in the good position: starting from scratch, no bad habits carried over from early days of childhood, picked up from other kids. Take a look at some dirt riding reading material, for instance Gary Semics Off-road riding techniques. I ride sport/track too, besides dirt, and I can't tell how much 4 levels of California Superbike School had given to me: built up riding and racing skills, confidence, developed vision and mental side of riding. And again: riding, the more the better.
