Mike38 Posted September 28, 2005 I asked this about two months ago, but didn't get a reply. Has anyone successfully installed CRF150 forks / triple trees on a 2002 XR100? I know that I'll need to cut four inches off of the length to match the 100 forks, but what about the bearings? I don't need to know about front brakes as there will not be any. The bike will be raced in flattrack. Any advice would be appreciated.
johnk408 Posted September 29, 2005 I guess I would ask why? Is it really an improvement? BTW, anything can be done.
Mike38 Posted September 29, 2005 I guess I would ask why? Is it really an improvement? A stiffer front end will flex less, adding to better handling. Pitching a bike into a corner sideways at 60+ MPH makes those little OEM forks flex bad. BTW, anything can be done. I'll Git-er-done. Just looking for ways to make it easier on myself. johnk408 Posted September 29, 2005 I looked at aftermarket bearing applications, and the 150 and 100 do not take the same steering stem bearing. At least I assume this as they don't even list the 150 on the list. Most people on here use early 80's cr 80 forks as they use they same steering stem bearing. W1LD1 Posted October 1, 2005 Ever think of going with CR stuff?
Mike38 Posted October 2, 2005 Ever think of going with CR stuff? I already have the CRF150 forks and trees. When I get it finished this winter, I'll post results. My XR100 is also going to get a 120cc kit and a CRF150 carb on it.
