so I have a camera, but do I need a bigger hard drive??

Recommended Posts

I purchased a sony DCR-HC85 a few days back, year end clearance at circut city. Anyways, what does everyone use for their hard drive? I think my computer has a 60 or 80 gig hard drive & is more needed?

This weekend isn't motorcycle related however my first video session will be at a local roadcoarse in my car. I will have 8 20-30 minute sessions that I will be recording & I can't decide if my hard drive is enough or if I should get a DVD burner & just throw everything on there.

hopefully in a few weeks I will have a camera case so I can carry the camera with me on the bike :banghead:

thanks for any input!

60-80 gig is not bad but will be filled up fast when it comes to editing footage. a 120 would be better, something else to consider is how fast your processor is, video editing eats a lot of processer power even more so than video games.

I just bought a SATA Western Digital 400GB HD from Costco the other day for $250 :banghead: When you put pictures and videos on the HD, it fills up fast! You could burn them to DVDs to clear your disk, this way you can continue with a using a smaller HD.

the question is, how much free space do you currently have on your computer?
