610 vs. 510 engines. How different?

Recommended Posts

Think of new 2006 TE 510. Currently have 1999 TC 610, use it for motocross. Idea is get TE 510 and use it for motocross and woodriding (no tight stuff, no racing, no road riding). I ride in NJ. Ex-motocross racer, but not racing for many years. I love 610 engine that feeling of smooth power, but want to expand my riding a bit to woods without buying additional bike. I looked at new TE610 but that bike way too heavy and I don't think suitable for motocross.

Can anybody comment on how this engines different? :banghead:

Then I'd suggest you look at the 450.

Easier to ride because the engine is less of a gyro, lighter and it has about as much hp (around 50 ish at the rear wheel).

According to spacs 510 and 450 weight same.

Don't 510 have smoother power bend in compare to 450? So it must be little easier to ride, right? May be little harder in tight wood trail because of more inertion of cranckshaft.
