Taller bars or Risers

Recommended Posts

I'm 6' and when I stand on my CRF250X, I feel like I hunched over a little. I'd like about an inch of extra height on the bars. My dealer (service dept) said to avoid risers, and go with a Renthal "JImmy Button" bar, which may give me 3/4'' to 1". I ride mostly trails (San Diego) and stand at least 1/2 the time.

Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'm 6 ft tall also, and found the 250X cockpit pretty cramped as well. I ride mostly trails standing up and found these bar risers to be very helpfull.

I bought the risers on the left. They bring the bars up and forward. :banghead:

The Jimmy Button bars aren't even close.

Another option is lower foot pegs. The Fastway pegs are lower by about 1/2 inch in the "low-boy" position.

Check out the Pastrana freestyle bend, I think Pro Taper makes them. Very high and narrow.

I really like the Protaper KX high bend bars because they're both taller and straighter. I'd also recommend the Fastway Evolution footpegs which you can mount 1/2" lower and 1/2" further rearward which really helps the transition from sitting to standing for us taller types. br8
