mixing fork springs??

Recommended Posts

On my roadrace bike we use a .90 and .95 fork spring to come up with a .925 rate. I trail ride my 01 YZ426 and need to soften up the suspension. I currently have a set of .46 and .48 springs, was thinking of going with .42 . It might be a little soft but thought I could mix with the .46/.48 to get different rates. Is there a limit to how much spring rate split you can get away with?

Today I took my 03' yz450 out for the first time after making the change in the front to a .46/.52 combo. I only play rode(no jumps) but so far it feels stable and turns pretty well. Hopefully tomorrow I can get to the track to see how it goes. I will post on the track experience.
