need info on hard to start DR650

I have a 1992 DR650 that is impossible to start. After about 150 kick starts the bike will run, but if i give it quick throttle or rev it up to 4000rpms the bike dies out...and good luck getting it started again. Flushed the fuel tank, put new gas and cleaned the carb... still the same problem. anyone with any advice would be appreciated.

I was given a tip from a guy that had an old kick start 650, he said it was best to start it in the prime position. if you do this, make sure you set it back to on or reserve after you get it started.
