mcct on a 2000S ??

Recommended Posts

All this talk about mcct and bending valves has me thinking. Mine runs and sounds perfect at 5,600 miles. Do I need to check the chain? Is the tensioner on a 2000 s a problem? :banghead: Thank you for your time.

Yes you have the first generation ACCT,,and yes,, that is the design that often failed. The chain will probably be fine,,,,but take a look at the ACCT when you take it out. If it is mostly extended.. then the chain is stretched.. Replace it for good measure. Chain and MCCT is cheap compared to a crank up rebuild.
